Public service providers should be regulated to insure unbiased usage, period. AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile are privately owned companies that provide public communication services to their users, that is identical to the services provided by Google, FaceBook, Twitter and their ilk.
The argument that companies like Google are somehow “privately owned companies” and therefore allowed to censor public content is no more valid than if Verizon, a privately owned company, made that argument as an excuse to censor phone conversations. This insanity is due only to the newness of the internet itself and of such internet communication services, and the fact the names of the creators of venues like FaceBook are so widely known. Google and AT&T are both listed on the stock exchange side-by-side and are publicly traded, they both have share holders.
Because Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone and started what became AT&T does that make AT&T a privately owned company? Not according to the Federal Government. When a company decides to provide a public communications service, it should come under the same requirements and regulations as any other public communications service, like the telephone companies, into which category any such services naturally fall.
Years ago the Federal Government broke up AT&T’s monopoly, which had allowed AT&T to price-gouge its captive public users. The public had no choice, either they used AT&T to communicate by telephone and pay what AT&T demanded or else, there were no viable alternatives. What Google, FaceBook and Twitter are doing is worse. They are censoring information content, something many, including the Founders of The United States, will argue is more precious than money, because that content has a direct correlation on not just monetary expenditures by the public but our actual Constitutional freedoms. The public has a Constitutional right to information!
What Google, FaceBook and Twitter are doing is a First Amendment violation, because they are attempting to censor not just the freedom of speech but the freedom of the press. Why? Because the new “press” is online, internet news provides are the press now. We, the public, have a Constitutional right to read and determine for ourselves, unfiltered by some partisan provider’s decisions as to what is “true news” and what is “fake news”. The First Amendment has no restrictions as to the validity of the information offered by the “press”, it is solely the right of the public to decide that information’s validity… and most lies are easy to spot when compared with the truth, which is why the Marxist Machine is in such a dither to squelch the truth.
The First Amendment of The United States Constitution:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
What Google, FaceBook and Twitter are doing with their pogrom to silence Conservative voices violates two of the five rights enumerated in the First Amendment: the freedom of speech and the freedom of the press! There is a logical reason freedom of speech and freedom of the press are tied in the First Amendment, you can’t have one without the other because they are actually the same thing.
That those communication providers can get away with publicly justifying their unconstitutional actions is a direct off-shoot of the Marxist ideology our children are being indoctrinated with in our current educational system, which is antithetical to our classic American ideology of individual freedoms. Beginning in our corrupted colleges, the poison is carried by those with Academic Degrees into our public schools, insuring the pollution of the most malleable minds from K-12. From that vulnerable scholastic beginning the deadly Marxist ideology built on trumped-up hate, forced ignorance and forced compliance disseminates throughout all levels of our society, public and private, vocational and avocational. There is a reason dictators have always wanted the children.
Then, Voilà! We arrive at the sorry state we find ourselves in today, dumbing-down achieved; where unscrupulous people like Obama, the Clintons, Pelosi, Schumer and Waters are running things amidst the cheers of the ignorant throng. What is left for those of us who love truth? We must attempt to find what little there is of it among the lies pumped out by the MSM and the gamut of our entertainment industry. Truth that must not be spoken, truth that is the Voldemort for the Marxist Machine run by people like those in charge of Google, FaceBook and Twitter.
